Hisser escapees?

Hi guys,

I've just realized that I must be really stupid. I've been keeping 4 hissers in a large petkeeper and they've just sprung a bunch of tiny (3-4 mm) babies on me. I found two of them on the outside of the petkeeper which I-ve now sealed and was wondering how many could have escaped and how long they would survive here in Sweden (if they can survive indoors at all)?

thanks for any advice,

Andreas G

I'm in CA and they keel over very fast outside of the enclosure.

I also live in California and these things do not live if they escape, sad but true :(. But I guess that is a good thing kind of. I still feel sorry for them. I' must have had atleas 10 escape.

Thanks for telling me that, it sounds really horrible but I'm really relieved to hear they won't make it outside of a heated enclosure (and there is no way that they'll survive here in Sweden if they'll keel over in sunny California). I've got enough neighbours worried stiff about my T's and scorps.

thanks again,

Andreas G

I've seen about 10 escapees dead not far from their cage. However my dorm room has lots of places they can hide and probably lots of food laying around, so I've found some nymphs a month or so after they escaped in perfect health and some had even molted. I hope I didn't start an exotic infestation, if so I feel sorry for the people who live in the room next year.

Are you talking about hissers? If they do manage to reach adulthood I can imagine your next year friends jump for the hiss LOL...
