Mine never uses hers. Is this normal for this species? It seems she's comfortable just lounging out in the open of her enclosure. I was thinking that the substrate is not to her liking. It's a mixture of potting soil and orchid bark (Tan bark), is there another that might encourage her to burrow, or use her hid log?:?

Thanks,

William

Mine don't use their hides either.
Its just a place for crickets to hideout. LOL
She'll web up the substrate to her likeing.
If she's hanging out on the ground, I don't think it's having a problem with it anyway.
Sounds like a normal G. rosea to me.

I've got one G. rosea that never uses her hide, and another one that never emerges from hers.
Yours is fine.

My G. rosea just stands out in the open, never uses her hide.

Most of the time, both of my rosies just hang out in the open also. Yours is normal, nothing to worry about.

I have 3 G. roseas and none of them use their, hides, the crickets use them more than the T does. I guess they just don't mind being out.

i think that since they web up the ground in one big blanket that they think they are allready in a large burrow and think they are hiding

Interesting theory John. Mine has the ground covered in silk.

My G. Rosea is always in her hide and also has this big web on both ends of it so nothing can get through.
