Hi, I’m new to all of this, and I’m planning to get a Phidippus regius. I need some help.

How to take care of an i3?
Do I need to wait till it reaches i5 to put it in a big enclosure?

Feed small fruit flies.

Depends on what enclosure it is in now. Should be a small deli cup or something of similar size.

When it gets bigger you can use a 32oz. deli cup.

Hello and welcome!

For an i3 you will want to feed flightless fruit flies.

Best to start a sling that tiny in a small deli container and upgrade as he or she grows.

My girl’s babies are at i3 and they are sooooooo small! I would tend to recommend an i6 sling. I have only been keeping Phidippus regius for almost a year, but based on my experience purchasing and raising slings of different instars from breeders, younger isn’t always better.

I’m sure there are many others here with far more experience who may have different experiences than mine. (And I would love to hear all about it! I never say no to learning more about Phidippus regius!)

But definitely keep doing your research! As others have said- use the search feature and come back with any specific questions!

Best of luck! Jumping spiders are such perfect little creatures 💕
