Definitely looks like a black widow. They don't like to be around humans or areas of high traffic. Once the females are mature and have a home they don't like to move around alot. I suggest if this spider isn't inside your home to leave it alone. If she's inside your home then someone who has experience moving her can relocate her close by.

Lets get down to some facts. It appears to be a Latrodectus or Steatoda. The profile shape of the abdomen will reveal which is which.
Latrodectus is cosmopolitan and with globalism being what it is they can be found in the UK as transients.. - Crawford.
Steatoda, false black widow, is common in the UK with a NIHS verified report of Steatodai envenomation - Steatodaism from a Steatoda Grossa on record.
Steatoda possesses a venom similar to Latrodectus but less potent.
You do no want either genus in the proximity of a young child.

Most likely to be Steatoda than Latrodectus given your location, but I can't tell for certain from these photos. Either way, simply cup it and take it outside. It will appreciate a wood pile, if you have such a thing about.
