anyway, im not trying to "troll" the forums, ive been a active member for a few years.

ive been talking to a friend and a wolf sancuary near her is having trouble with paying bills, and other things to keep the sancuary going.

now this is the 4th sanctuary for animals that ive heard of, that was having problems like this.

http://www.wolfmountain.com/

thats the particular place (my friend lives over in california, and she used to go to the sancuary alot)

has anyone else seen this happening? if so can we devise a way to help stop it?

im trying to help keep this sancuary open now, in the only way i know how to, which is telling others about it.

basically how can we stop animal sanctuaries from closeing, and what can be done to help the one i posted.

the one i posted can barely afford vet bills or the food costs, due to taxes and less donations.

i apologize for the vagueness, i was very tired when i posted and didnt realize how it was typed.

hello,
I've worked in a few sanctuaries over the years, for everything from domestic cats and dogs to the largest tiger sanctuary in the u.s., possibly the world. funding is often times very low, and getting more funding is a tedious task at times. if this is a sanctuary that relies on donations for funding the best thing to do is increase awareness of the sanctuary's presence. this is easier said than done, but its very possible. an increased local awareness can go quite far in obtaining more donations. i havent looked at the link provided, but, if this is a legit, and im assuming it is, operation there is the option of filing a grant. a well written grant proposal can take months to write up, and even a well written grant proposal does not guarentee anything. there are lots of options out there, and the best bet would be to contact other sanctuaries, of all kinds, and ask questions. most will be happy to help out as its in the best interest of the animals, but some are very guarded and consider anyone asking questions to be out to close down their operation. i hope this has been of some help, and, fear not because there are many options out there. feel free to contact me if you have any other questions you think i might be able to help with.

Your friend seems to have a lot of wolves there!

One other thing I would suggest is to get into contact with your local broadcasting station, and put in a proposal for a grant to do a small documentary, or see if they are interested in something like this, maybe even a small segment as it will gain awareness of the public, ect, and you might end up getting more volunteers out of it.

I was able to get 5000$ to do a small documentary on my roots, (as I was a student at the time) but it took around 1-2 months to set up, but I am sure with perseverance you guys can do something similar.

Also, try contacting local universities and schools maybe they can help with a study of wolves, which in turn will require them grant proposals as well. And for the schools, ask them to do fun raisers in their science or business class to promote them, and it would be a great learning experience as well.

I am not sure how your wolves live, as a pack or separately into pairs, but that could have a considerable impact if you receive funding or not.

Ceasar Millan please?
