Hi, a guy from Brazil e-mailed me and wanted to trade me for my P. cambrigei, the 8in. female. Anyway, heres what he wanted to trade:

HI ,,would like you to trade your 8in. Trinidad Chevron
(Psalmopoeus cambridgei for one vitalius sorocabae or
I also have
scorpions
tityus bahiensis
tityus crostatus

spiders
phoneutria phera
phoneutria nigriventer
vitalius sorocabae
lasidora itabunae..

I am from brazil..but this is not problem..I always get
spiders from USA and also ship to USA and Europ

Thats his whole e-mail. Its very tempting but, Brazil is closed and i'd be afraid if the cites thing came into the picture. And I don't think theres a import/export liscense on either side. It is tempting but I don't think I will. Does this have something to do with all the illgal T's from south american into Europe?

If it were me I would stick with the Trinidad Chevron, but the vitalius sorocabae he mentions I have never seen for sale anywhere so maybe it is a good idea because they are maybe hard to find. This I am not sure about I have just never heard or seen this species before. I looked at a picture and it looks to me kinda like a Brazilian Salmon Pink. The Trinidad Is nicer looking in my opinion so I would stick with it.

peace

I think for your spider's safety, it would be best to keep it in the US, even IF you were able to send it out of the country (which I don't believe you are without an exporter license). International mail takes longer to get to the recipient, and it costs more money too. Also, I don't believe you have any kind of protection if the deal goes bad.

Today, I received a package of critters that should have come in yesterday...and that's with the USPS EXPRESS mail. When you figure overnight mail can take 2 days, shipping internationally doesn't make sense, especially if you are only shipping one spider.

I've had international dealings and they usually take at least a
week or two to receive myself (though I've never received anything, just sheet music and books).

I'm sorry to see your parents are making you part with all your critters. They should at least allow you to keep your hentzis as those are usually docile. Why don't you pick one up and show your parents just how handleable they are so that maybe you can at least keep those? :)

Well, the hentzis I have are jumpy and bitey. But I can hold the P. cambridgei's, they aren't that bad, but when they run they run, when they jump, they jump lol.

Oh yeah, there are about 20 T's i'm not going to part with lol. Maybe more, we'll see. They said I can keep all my centipedes though. When I sell a few T's, i'll get a 10gal. going and get some baby Jack Dempsey's from the local petshop, nice fish.

I may be wrong, but I do believe fish are more delicate than tarantulas and probably have shorter lifespans. Are you really SURE you want fish? :)

I don't think the illegality of it is something to take lightly. You are right to be cautious of breaking import/export laws.

Cheers,
Dave

Your right, he says he shipped Phoneutria fera and nigriventer(my favorite) to the u.s. before, and is offering me rare T's and true spiders and Tityus sp scorps. He could just be saying that, or it could explain why there are few, and people that have them don't advertise. I think i'll stay away, lol.

I'm not going to go into the legal and moral issues of such dealings, but I can tell you he is a reputable trader and not a "con-man" :)
I know for sure that he has shipped Theraphosids to the UK in the past and they have all arrived alive and well.

Steve, give your PM box a cleaning. You're PM'n me and I reply, but everytime I get the message saying your box is full. I've emailed you about this as well. Please don't think I'm ignoring you.
Back to the topic, um...yeah, fish are boring :D

Ok thanks for the info, I have only one message there, i'll delete it and see if that works. Come to think of it, it was the pm I sent you about T. incubation, lol. I won't get out of T's, and pedes are some of the coolest inverts out there.

Ok, I checked the user cp, I don't have any messages left, lol. I hope that worked, ended all message tracking, ect. I think I have a wrong e-mail on here. I hope the pm's work now, there isn't a single thing left there. I could give you my password if you'd like to check yourself, lol. Or I can put my current e-mail.

I know I told you in an earlier post that you need to clean out your SENT PM box. That's what's keeping your box full. Try that, and you won't have so many of us complaining about your full box, at least not for a little while. ;)
