To phasmid keepers this is our equivalent of Idolomantis :p
Amazing stick insects, covered in spines and pretty aggressive for a phasmid.
They are absolutely massive too
They are another species though that takes their time growing.

If any of you want to get more into phasmids then i suggest http://www.insectstore.com/phasmid/

Reminds me of the time I had a Eurycantha calcarata with only 1 hind leg go crazy on my arm, no idea if it hurt or not or if the strong odor was too overwhelming for me to feel my arm but it scared the crap out of me lol. I havent handled it again after that lol. Those spikes looked intimidating, no idea if they can break the skin or not.

I would venture to say they could as I had a 10" (tip of the front legs to tip of the back, not sure proper measurement technique) female specimen jab me pretty good through some thin leather gardening gloves. Didn't pierce the skin but felt like it did. I have desk jockey hands though...my grandfather has leather hands from all the stuff he does and he could pick her up with his bare hands and her hissing and kicking away *shrugs*

Those were great, too bad they're hard to find :(

Loved the Haaniella muelleri pics too, beautiful.

Some crazy, interesting looking creatures. I've only kept some locals I've found. Those are amazing looking!

Very cool. I wish we could get them here in the States.
Oh theyre still here. I remember a little asian lady at a reptile show selling some just a couple years ago(Eurycantha calcarata) though sucks theyre illegal now. Now they will be even more difficult to find! Silly laws, I like my bugs.
