Hoping to purchase a cat eyed mantis, but I have a few questions about their care. First and foremost, is this a good species to start off with? I'm pretty new to mantis keeping, and have only kept M. religiosa before. I have an 18 gallon enclosure available and have heard that cat eyed mantises can be kept communally if provided sufficient space and food. The enclosures dimensions are 22"x11"x25", would this be able to house a pair or even one fully grown adult? What humidity is best for this species? How frequently do they need to be fed, and can they be fed roaches via tongs or do they strictly require flying prey? What kind of setup do they need? Any advice would be appreciated!

I keep mine together until adult, the females will eat the male if given the chance. They love flies, but seem to be skittish with most food.
I dont do anything special for them. they are funny to look at as they just look like a string hanging .
