Doin what he does best. Got him from the shelter, supposedly a pitt/basset mix.

Aw so serious.

He's about 3 months the vet says, and pretty healthy.

Looks like my old pit/beagle mix Zoe. Im glad your shelter adopts pit mixes out, our local shelter euthanizes pits and pit mixes. Im sure he'll bring you lots of fun times!:D

Yeah he is a great dog. Smart, but almost as stubborn as I am. Housetraining him has been a bit of a chore, but he is still pretty young for that. Anyone have any experience using crates? He seems to have had bad experiences with them, cause he is definitely put off a bit by it. I put it in the area he normally sleeps with a towel, a treat/biscuit hidden in the corner, a shirt with my smell on it, and took all the doors off, and he won't go in it at all. Any ideas? I just want him to have his own personal little space since I can't give him run of the house yet.

Not personally, but there are some really brilliant hardcore dog owners in the Pet Island forum, and they've made a group effort website for advice apparently: http://www.lunarprincess.com/pi_faq/dog-faq.html I didn't even know this existed until just now, cool. :D

If you have any more specific questions, I can PM one of the dog people for more detailed info, I'm sure. Pet Island and the somethingawful.com forums in general are pretty great, but the 9.95 admission puts a lot of people off, so I don't mind running back and forth for you. :D

He's absolutely adorable! I've had a rednose pit mix for close to 2 years now and started using a crate when she was about 9 months old with great success. She picked up on it very quickly and just goes in it on her own nowadays as soon as I pick up my keys. It's a good way of training your dog obedience and routine in my experience.

he's adorable. the only dog that goes to sleep in a crate at my sisters is her big boxer x, the rest will sleep on a mattress, her pit always sneaks in her bed {D . thank goodness she has a kingsize bed, couse 3 dogs weighing in 80+ pounds each will need the room. but they are only allowed in bed in winter time, so they don't get too cold.

Groovy, they'll take care of you for sure. :) Ha, I don't know why I never expected to run into another goon on AB, it's not like some Pet Island folks don't already post in the invert forums/for sale section.
