Anybody ever deal with this condition?
My kitty Sassy was diagnosed with this yesterday after a mountain of bloodwork to rule out other possible conditions (bloodwork is freakin expensive!).
I'm having a terrible time getting her to eat, and she needs the calories to get well. She ate a few bites of a prescription canned food at the vet's yesterday, and a few bites when I got home. Today she's eaten about 6 bites, but she needs to eat more.
Any ideas on stimulating her appetite? A product called VitaFerret was suggested to me, as it is an appetite stimulator, and has loads of calories. I'm on my way out to the store right now to pick some up.
If I can't get her to consume enough food, she's going to need a feeding tube....
Hepatic Lipidosis
And apparently, someone thought it would be cute to shoot at her before I got her (she was living outside then), as when the vet shaved her leg to draw the blood, he found two BBs in her leg.
