So, basically, I have what I'm fairly certain are Steatoda Grossa in the corners of every window of a certain room, between the window pane and the screen. I've caught one to observe her, and quickly realized they were all over the place, eating the ants that I had a problem with last summer.
I want to keep them alive, both because I really like them and because I want them to keep eating the ants, but I need to clean the windows, specifically the parts where they've built their webs, it's nasty down there.
Should I try to catch them temporarily and put them back when I'm done? Or just try my best to clean around their little hiding spaces? Or is it just sort of a lost cause?
Also, I know that whatever I use to clean the windows (even if it's a more natural method like vinegar and water) could potentially harm the spiders, but would they be fine around it once it's all dried? I think so, but I don't know for sure.
I feel like this is kind of silly, but I really love my window spiders. Thanks in advance to anyone with advice
