Phyllis, a P. phalangioides, laid some eggs in mid-June. She held the egg sac for a week, then dropped it. At the same time my Mom was in the hospital, and I wanted to look at the egg sac under my microscope but had to put it aside. Today, in a rare day at home, I noticed that there is a tiny spiderling hanging on the side of the container. I am not sure when it hatched. I don't think it molted to 2nd instar yet. Any suggestions if I can help it in any way? I was not expecting that! I saw it move, and it is clinging to the side near the top of the container. Can it make any webbing for itself to hang on? Normally they climb up to their Mom's web and sit there for about a week. I sure hope it makes it.
