Hello, We are new to Praying Mantis care. We got a L4/L5 Mantis on Wednesday (its now Friday) and it hasn't eaten yet. We tried the first day but failed and that night it moulted so we thought that must be why. We left it alone yesterday to recover from its moult. Today we got it out and hes not interested in the cricket. its small to medium crickets we have and these are what the guy who sent him sold us.To feed him we are placing him in a small (10 x 10cm) tupperware tub, we place the cricket in the tub and the mantis. the mantis is NOT interested. he either climbs out or to the top edge , the food has waled right past him , and a meal worm larvae but nope not interested. What to do? Or is it normal not to eat....

She might just be stressed, no need to feed a Mantis in a different enclosure. Wait 4 more days before feeding and try not to handle them. No need to rush.

You need to wait a few days before feeding. When it is ready, blue bottle flies are hard for them to resist.

Like the others have said, mantids can fast for a bit, especially when in a new environment. If it’s abdomen becomes very thin, it’s not likely it’ll resist a meal. Just be patient with them

If it's hierodula, it'll eat when it wants or has to(which should be anytime outside of premolt or post molt)
