I just saw two of these guys in a local pet shop, labeled as Phrynus mexicanus, which to my understanding isn’t considered as a real species anymore, so was wondering if anybody could tell what they are from the admittedly low quality photos they let me take of them. I bought another younger specimen, labeled as the same thing from this same shop a year or so ago, and haven’t had any luck identifying that one either. My end goal is captive breeding so definitely want to know. I’ve included some pics of the older ones I just saw for sale as well as some of my younger specimen. Thanks for any advice!

Unfortunately it would be impossible to ID from any of those photos. It would be better to have a clear view of the carapace (head) and the pedipalps, but I understand that is not always easy to obtain.
Please understand that even with photos, sometimes it is very difficult to identify Amblypygi to species. This is why it is encouraged to purchase animals from breeders who can provide accurate information about the identity and origin of the specimens.
Not saying you did anything wrong, but helping you in this case will be difficult.

Possible phrynus cf maesi in first photo, next set of photos could be a smaller maesi specimen, and last individual looks like some sort of paraphrynus. i want to say cubensis but without better pics or lcoale info, it's hard to tell
