So my female Hyllus Diardi has been lacking food (the shipment of flies is late). It is also winter here so the temperature in my house isn't very high, and she is a tropical species. She has been slowly starving to death, so I gave her some water droplets, and she has drank a lot of it well. However, she has trouble climbing now, and is rather slow, sometimes falling off the enclosure. How can I help her? Should I turn the heater up more?

Is there not a way for you to source other feeders for it, like mealworms or crickets? If it's been that long since it's eaten, I'm sure that it'll be receptive to other options. You can also try warming it up some, but all that's likely to do is speed the metabolism up and increase the effects of not eating.

I know that pet store insects aren’t gut loaded and aren’t always the best solution, but if your tarantula is that hungry, she should be fed. In a pinch you can always try night crawlers. Lots of fishing supply stores have earth worms. There are better choices but your poor baby sounds really hungry. Are there truly no options? Are there no stores around where you live?

How long until the feeders arrive?

You can feed her honey if you have nothing else; dilute it with a little water, put it on a qtip and offer it to her. It's not ideal as a main food source but might be able to get your spider through the worst of it while waiting for real food.
