Help - my emperor is molting!

I came home and checked on my scorpions and found the smallest one molting. For a minute I thought he was dead and decayed, then I realized he is molting.
Is there any thing I should do to make sure he gets out? I'm familiar with tarantulas, but am not sure what to do with scorpions.

Just be sure that he has high humidity, which will help him out. (Don't mist directly on him). If the tank has a good humidity, it'll probably be fine.

Good luck, Frank

i would say keep the humidity up, but being its an emp im sure you already have it pretty high anyways. i treat my molting scorps like my molting Ts, take out the crickets and increase the humidity.

My emps are coming tomorrow. My first scorps ever. And here is a question I forgot to ask...what percentage of humdity am I going to need? Im assuming 50-80%

Do do any of you gauge your humidity, and do you know the level in your emps cage?

Thanks.

He's still in his molt!

Its morning know and I checked on my scorpion to see that he was still in his molt - partially out though. Is this normal? Does it take 24 hours to molt? He's just a baby scorpion, barely 1.5 inch. If he doesn't get out of his molt, what should I do?

I have my four set up with a layered moisture gradient, two water dishes, and I mist them every day. I have two humidity gauges, and I usually don't like it to get below 80%, although I'm currently experimenting with a 70% minimum. So far, so good, but I've yet to have one ready to molt at that humidity.

It should be out of the molt by now. Is it still in the old 'skin' or is it just stuck in one area?...If it is the latter you might try putting a couple of drops of water where it appears to be stuck...this I have found usually releases the remainder of the molt with my inverts.

thanks for that info, wsimms.

I keep a tropical terrarium as well, so I should be able to keep up a nice misting scedule.

I tried the water and got part of the molt off.
Unfortunately, he was dead this morning when I checked.
Thanks for all your help though.
