Help Me Decide Which to Get...

2 four months old Frilled Lizards or 1 Frilled and 1 Blue Tongue Skink? Each are like $100. And I cant decide which I should get.

Frilled are very rare here, and its beautiful. Problem is both are unsexed. Im risking of getting 2 males.

Or I can just get it for display reasons, and get 1 Frilled and 1 BTS(a month old). Totally cancel the notion of breeding but atleast Im getting 2 different animals. BTS are somewhat rare here too, though not as much as the frillies.

So what can you guys suggest? I really want frillies and want to breed them, but again, theres a chance it will be both males or females. And at the same time, I want BTS too... more species in my room! lol

I say get the frilled and the BTS. Variety is always good. Once you figure out the gender of the frilled you can start looking for the opposite one. Good luck.

True, though as I said, frillies are VERY rare here. I got lucky this breeder reserved 2 for me since I got 2 bearded dragons from her earlier this year. She advertised a lot of her herps, but didnt for the frillies. She only sold them to friends.

The other few I saw selling frillies are like twice the price! And I havent seen anyone here selling sexed ones.

BTS on the other hand is very good too. And its easier to find a partner, though my priority for breeding would be the frillies. Oh, are 1 month BTS already good?

Well BTS are say 90% rare, while frillies are 97% rare. And most sell juvies/adults, which are like twice/thrice the price.

If I were you, I'd go greedy and get them both. How much are they anyway?

I'm still saying I favor BTS but its because I have no experiences with frills. BTS are relatively easy to tame too and they're not as quick, so I opt them if u want to handle.

Okay what about the BTS? when is she getting more of those? If frillies are so rare for you just get them then. Just put it on a credit card and pay it back slowly lol...I know what u're saying though.

Anyway yeah, I guess frillies. Jmugleston on the frilled lizard thread I made put pics, and that pretty much sealed the deal. Though I can never tell, Im a Gemini! lol

I cant put it on credit card. She doesnt have a store but is just a breeder. All her animals are registered though in DENR(Department of Natural Resources), even the frillies! If I have extra cash, I might get 1 BTS though. Im yet to ask her how often will it lay. THANKS!

Since you are having trouble deciding I thought I'd be a punk and show some of my frillies and some of my blueys:

If frillies are harder to come by, get the two. After a few months when they start showing signs of their gender, if you have two males, you would have a rare lizard that you can trade for/toward a blue tongue.

Well I was kinda disappointed a bit when you said they hardly frills, cuz thats one of the things that really fascinated me since I was a kid. Well I hope mine is jumpy as me... lol

No worries. I too was disappointed when I first found out how calm they were, Once you have them, they will frill once in a while and the wait is worth it.
