Hello everyone! (I'm sorry if I say something wrong, english is not my first language).

Today my sling jumping spider started to molt, from L3 to L4.

It was active a few hours ago, but now I realized it started to molt, outside the nest and looked a little stucked to a water droplet by its side. The "helmet" was already out.

When I saw that I got so nervous that it was going to drown that I gently removed it from there and placed it on the enclosure's floor. It hasn't moved ever since!

I don't know if it is alive or if it died trying to molt... stuck on that water droplet. This is the first time I'm owning spiders and I am so nervous. Please help me, I don't know what to do :(

You shouldn't have touched it, I do not think a slight touch would have killed it,I'd let it alone for a few days if nothing changes no further progress is made then I'd presume death however I myself would wait until visible signs of death (ei smell) just to be completely sure,I hope it's still alive for your sake!

I shouldn't have touched it... but seeing it "glued" to that "bigger" water droplet made me panic. I was so afraid it was drowning. It doesn't move. Would it be dead even without showing the death curl? Do you think it might be alive althought it doesn't move at all? Just like in the pictures. I'm sorry, I'm literally getting emotional over this

I would think there's a good chance it's still alive as the signature death curl is due to hydraulics and so since this hasn't happened there is a good chance the spider isn't dead good thinking

Also Spiders and other insects and arthropods like millipedes breathe through spiracles in the abdomen and underside so if only his face was in the droplet there perhaps was no real danger

I wouldn’t have move it just used a q tip or napkin to dry out the water droplet. You can’t and should never move a spider when molting. The stress alone can kill it. I hope it’s still alive but only time would tell.
