I bought a scorpion recently. I already have 25 tarantulas but this is my first scorpion. It was sold to me as a heterometrus spinifer, asian forest scorpion. But upon doing more research I found a heterometrus spinifer is actually a Malaysian forest scorpion. Where as an Asian forest scorpion is a heterometrus longimanus. I need help figuring out exactly what I have. Thank you 20221012_155800.jpg 20221015_235129.jpg 20221012_155632.jpg 20221012_180849.jpg

Malaysia is in Asia. ;)
All Heterometrinae are called Asian forest scorpion, so it's an umbrella term, not a species name.
And this is why we use scientific names.
This is indeed H. silenus.

silenus without a doubt, you can tell by the groove along the pincer.
