Hi guys!
I just caught this little one for myself this morning. They are in their new home. I’m thinking this is a P. Californicus and I’m also thinking it is a male, but I am not sure. Id also love to know your guesses on their age.
This will be my first jumper! I have a tree full of them in my yard and started doing research on keeping one about a month ago I am so excited!
I have mini mealworms on the way. They just ate a smaller housefly I caught and put in there for them. They seem to be adjusting good.

I think it might be an immature Phiddipus johnsoni, but I'm not positive.

I would be inclined to agree with the Phiddipus johnsoni identification.

i can tell you its not audax or phiddipus.

i need to research more to point it down. I need more photos. Of abdomen, and carapace.

Phidippus johnsoni aka Red Backed Jumping Spider is one of the largest and most common Jumpers in Western North America.

I was aiming on that. But since it is not something i have observed, i would not allow myself to say it is. I do think it is though.
