Hi! Long time reptile and tarantula keeper, first time scorpion keeper. I went to Repticon knowing I wanted an Asian Forest Scorpion. Really I wanted an Emperor but didn't see a huge difference in them other than their price tag. Found a few on different tables and went with the guy I typically only get spiders from. He gave me his best guess on sex, stating female and probably gravid. She was listed as an ASF and that was good enough for me. I didn't realize there were sub species. I thought H. spinifer was literally the only one. Now I'm curious what type she is. Thoughts? If the pictures don't work, I'll try to get some more while she's out roaming. Also, if she is actually a he, I'd like to know. My husband has dubbed her Princess Pinchypoke (he has the most ridiculous names for my tarantulas, too, but I love him). He's happy to change the name to something equally as ridiculous if the scorpion is a male. Thanks for reading!
