Picked up this scorp from an animal shelter (it was a pet surrender) they had no background information at all about them. So I need help figuring out if it’s an Emperor Scorpion or an Asian Forest Scorpion. In the light the black can look both a little greenish and reddish. Thank you in advance for your help! Substrate looks a little on the dry side.

I will take a shot at the identification
I will say Heterometrus silenus (dark telson, slight granulation) and It appears female to me due to the shape of the operculum and the tooth on the chela does not look overly pronounced.

-The substrate is sooo dry and looks/smells super old! This is the exact setup they were in at the shelter in I just got them home and will move them over to the new set up I have put together within the hour.
