Two weeks ago a goose laid eggs in my dad's boat and today he took them out because he didnt want his boat to be her nursery. She was still defending them, but he was able to scare her off. Then some other geese and some mallards he says were mounting her. He cracked one open and he said that the yolk was very orange and looked just like a (much larger) fresh hen egg. Researching i saw that eggs take about a month to hatch, and they should be kept at 100F and be turned quite a bit. Has anyone had experience hatching goose eggs? My dad wants them for breakfast, but i would like to try my luck. Is there any chance that they are still alive? If they are, how do i go about hatching them? Another thing is i dont know which species it is, but i know the geese are domestic and dont migrate. They are not canadian geese, and thats about all i know. Heres a pic of one.

You have to turn them 4 times a day I know. (at least you do with chicken eggs)

I suggest going to murray mcmurray hatcheries. http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/ They have stuff on how to hatch eggs and all that.

ive been turning them quite a bit. I am a little worried that i dont have an incubator, but i have a light on them and my room is already very warm cuz of the ts. The only thermometer i have one of those that you stick in ur mouth to see if u r sick. It says 106 degrees but i have heard 99.5 degrees to hatch goose eggs. The eggs themselves are not very warm at all, so i wonder about that 106. Another thing is that two of them are in the fridge and destined to go into the frying pan. I was able to save three of them. Would the heavier and larger ones be more likely to hatch or would the smaller and lighter ones be the ones to hatch?
