Hi all, looking for some help/feedback. My 9 month old Regal Jumper, TipToe is on her 6th batch of unfertilized eggs in the past 4 months. I got her as a tiny sling from a breeder and she has continued to thrive-successful molts, healthy appetite, drinks water, builds lots of hammocks....from what I have read online it says that captive RJ's don't lay eggs more than 1-2 times in their life, so I'm not sure why she is continuing to do this. The first 2 she guarded and built a very thick protective barrier over and wouldn't leave them for about 1-2 weeks each, which was anticipated. The past 4 batches she has laid, checked them out briefly, let them fall into the bottom of her nest, dry up and go about her day. Once they dry entirely, she spends a few hours chewing them off the side and letting the pieces drop. This morning she laid again in the middle of her newly constructed (sheer) hammock and hasn't even bothered to check them out. I'm sure this must be tough on her little body, but she isn't showing any signs of distress. Physically her abdomen remains round and smooth and her behavior doesn't change. Should I be worried? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Doesn’t sound like weird behavior to me. She just has lots of eggs. There are almost always exceptions to common behaviors. If she looks healthy and acts healthy that’s good. Not much you can do usually.

Thanks for the response. She is my first jumper, so just wanted to be sure that I am being the best spider mom possible. :) There isn't a lot online about unfertilized eggs surprisingly, so again thanks you.
