Help! Dying pink toe

I just came home and noticed my little pink toe "asleep" in her substrate. I picked her up and her legs are like noodles and she is acting funny. Nothing is new or changed, except she hasn't eaten in a few days.

Is this the end? I put her in a container with a damp facecloth and am keeping my eye on her. Ive become quite attached to the little booger. Any advice?

She might be thirsty, or she might be getting ready to molt. Either case its a good idea to give it some water, either mist the container a bit or give her a small water dish to drink from. You might have to help her out if she is having trouble walking, by placing her fangs first on the water dish, keeping her abdomen (booklungs) out of the water. She may just be off food and preparing to molt though.

I put her in a container with a wet facecloth, and misted her. I also stuck a very small cricket in there. I tried to place her in the water dish ut she has just enough verve in her to scoot away, so maybe the wet cloth and mist will be ok.

She molted about 2 weeks ago, and I have never really seen her on her water dish, unlike my very strange Rose haired that plays in hers (as well as sleeps on my laptop...she's a ding dong)

I really like my pinktoe. She is so little I would hate to lose her so soon after she came home with me.

take the cricket out...and leave it in a dark place for 24 hours and then check up on it.

update

Jaunita seems to be doing a bit better....she is no longer curled up in a ball but still a bit spaced out.

I'm sorry to hear that. She may have torn herself somewhere and bled out. That's what happened to my old rosie I think. She didn't go into the death curl though. Just really limp.

Thank you. I was able to go back to the pet store and they gave me a new pink toe. I'm not going to play like I have been able to sex it...but based on its appearance, I would like to say male.

Anyhew, they let me keep Juanita and she will be mounted and framed proper.

I have to say the new one (I named him Jesus...you know, Hispanic and my rose haired is Guadalupe) seemed starving. He pounced on his first cricket...and proceeded to bundle 4 in 24 hours. Whether it was simply an instinctual reaction or he was actually starving, Im not sure.

I ordered a Goliath bird eater spiderling, hopefully it will be in this week.

PS. I know y'all love the latin names, please excuse my seemingly highschool biology references. I adore common names..but I am impressed that so many people do the SNS. You give me hope for the future of entomology! Also, if there are any apiculturalists out there give me a shout.
