These are the species in question; no other suggestions please:rolleyes::D

Sericopelma Rubronitens
Aphnopelma Seemani
Aphnopelma Chalcodes
Thrixopelma Pruriens

I am leaning more to temperment than beauty (a pet vs. look-don't-touch.)

Suggestions are much appreciated. I'm buying adult female so as to have something to enjoy until my others grow up.

Yes, I enjoy watching my Ts grow. It's just that they don't seem to be in a hurry AT ALL!!!!!:wall:

Hey

I would say the seemani but if your looking to show some chicks your bites then go with an OBT

I think seemani's are typically no touch. I don't know much about the others but I think you might have the best luck with a docile spider in the chalcodes. Again, i don't know what Sericopelma and Thrixopelma are like.

l've a thrixopelma ockerti,l suggest u get one if possible ,interesting Ts are, they r a bit nervous but not so aggressive, its not a ockerti but l think they have nearly same behaviours.

Go for Thrixopelma pruriens u will not regret ;)

I have a large female Sericopelma Rubronitens. Other then being skittish upon being touched, once I pick her up she is very docile. MINE has never given me a threat display or flicked hairs either. She is always sitting out where you can see her and in my opinion they are very beautiful T's. Look like they are covered with black velvet with red hairs on the rump. Plus they are usually pretty cheap!

Hope this helped.

I have to ask. Why are you limiting yourself to just picking from those four? You have plenty of other T's that can be handled.

They were the only ones from ktbg who were matured females and southern spider works won't return any of my emails, so that leaves out the grossa or mollicoma females.

All others are too expensive and so a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.

he's also got A hentzi, anax, "flagstaff" and "new river" all of which are going to be more likely to be docile than 3 out of your 4 choices.

I personally like the Seemani out of those listed, the one I have is a real sweetheart and is in general a great pet tarantula.
