Hi, I just went to refil my lil B.smithi's water and I noticed a droplet of water on it's abdomen. I just thought it was water from the bowl but to be on the safe side I dabbed it with a small amount of cotton wool. I watched and slowly the drop of clear liquid returned! I haven't handled her neither. What should I do? I'm very worried...

Get some "Nu Skin" or superglue and apply it to the wound. Hopefully this should stop it. It doesn't look too bad, so it may be okay.

Was there anything sharp it could have fallen on?

My T. blondi did the same thing. The "barbs" on the legs caught the side of the abdomen one day trying to get away from me when filling the waterdish. He tried to kick hairs at me but instead injured himself. There were about 4-5 drops that were lost out of the abdomen. I gave him a week before even bothering him. He turned out ok and still lives on. As long as it stops, yours should be fine. Give him/her some time.

Good luck!

Thanks alot for your help. There isn't any superglue in my house and everywhere is closed now (09:25pm over here). Is there any other action that I could take? Any other household substance that could block the leakage? Chris, did you leave the drops alone and your T healed without any help?

Yep....I left him alone but as I said. It was only about 4-5 drop the most. Today he is fine.

I would search for that nuskin stuff if you could. I wouldn't risk loosing a T.

Thankyou both for your help, much appreciated! I applied the nail polish and it has stopped the leaking. I will definitely invest in some "Nu Skin" for future use (hopefully not). Now I can get back to my essay. Thanks again! :D

In the future, if you get a little leak like that, just tear off a tiny piece of toilet paper and set it on the hemolymph. It will help it "clog". I've done this many time, not wanting to use any chemicals on my Ts, and it works very well with all but large leaks. Of course, she will look like an inexperienced teenage guy just learning to shave, but... :p

Lol! Using toilet paper did cross my mind but I didn't think it would work because of the lack of any coagulant in the T's blood. Now that I know it works I'll definitely bear it in mind. Thanks

I guess I better ask this before it's too late - when putting on some toilet paper, do you have to hold the T to get it on or do you do it with some pincers (which imho can be dangerous if the T is twitchy - it could get stabbed by them by accident perhaps), or ...what do you do? I guess it all comes down to the good old "What T is it?", but I can't believe you just put it on without holding your T in any way... how how how?? (No that was no Santa Claus laugh... too late for that).

OR you could try cornstarch. I used this on my B. Emilia after an accident involving the cat. That was 2 months ago and she'd still doing fine. That clots right away.
