Generally speaking, hides should never have bottoms.....a hide isnt a home, its more of a front door.

Good analogy! The hides you can buy in stores are OK for thing like snakes and geckos, but tarantulas don't really use them because it doesn't register that they are hidden as there's too much open space inside the hide. They like to burrow under stuff and make it nice and snug.

Part buried round of cork bark... T does the rest. Lots of juvenile / adult beginner terrestrials often don't even bother to make a burrow but it's always important to give them the option.

I don't like it, but tastes are different...
As mentioned earlier, the bottom should be open...

Sorry but for me is a Big No... That's more for your own pleasure than for your T.

Is going to be substrate bark? Or substrate and a bark? The first one is another big no, the second one, substrate it is a obvious element, and regarding the bark, what kind of bark are going to use?

You have a G. rosea... what plant are you going to use for a arid specie? Forget the cactus please, suculents maybe.

Hey it’s suitable bark with substrate :)

each to there own though with the layout ? :)

appreciate the suggestions though

thanks :) as for the cactus it’s safe lol

So you're not using it as a hide? I thought that was the plan
I am using it as a hide

I’m here to meet spider admirers not for a dispute but thanks everyone

But you know the spider won't use it as a hide for the previously mentioned reasons right? If you want it in there as a decoration, that's subjective and that's OK. But if you want something for a spider to hide in and feel safe it's an objectively bad thing to use

I got 50 bucks says that thing gets filled with substrate before it’s used as a permanent hide. No offense OP, it’s just that there’s no where for the spider to go in there.
