Yes they can climb tubs.. It just slows them down a little.. Well IME they can.. Its easier to deal with them in the tub..

*Edit* Great shots.. He is a cutie!

Good for you! I tried to force my OBT to let me handle him. He ran away and I chased him all over my room trying to make him stay still on my hand but he didn't cooperate. :} Nice going!

edit
never ever handle any of the things I have.....please
It's not big,it's just dangerous and life threatening
I also see the error of my ways and now realise how stupid I was.

Man you are brave lol. I wouldn't even attempt to handle one. A friend had a female and she was super aggressive. She would hit the side of her tank with her fangs. Since you handled P murinus. Go for Stromatopelma Calceatum :p:p

Congrats!!! You get more than bonus points from me!!!! I've not willingly freehandled any of my OWs yet. Even then, they are still babies......except for my S. cal, and I have little to no desire to even screw around with her. She has made that abundantly clear for me, LOL!!!! (Although it would be great if she allowed it just one time.... )

And this is what will happen:

IME, this species is from another planet in terms of speed and defensiveness. They are seriously off the chain!!!! The S. cal is NOT a great handling spider.......the only thing an owner would get out of that experience is either the greatest adrenaline rush in the hobby, or a trip to the ER.

Haha yeh i was joking about it. Stromatopelma Calceatum is Insanity manifested into a Spider :) Makes me wonder.... What the other 3 Species in the Stromatopelma Genus are like .... Especially the one named after a certain *Fallen angel* If you know what i mean !
