I keep my crickets in a plastic 80L container and I need a way to heat them. I have a little heatpad that does not do enough to get them to breed. It's usually in the early 20s during the day. It's winter in Australia. About a quarter of the roughly 430 are mature.

Where are your room temperatures in Fahrenheit?

One of the common breeding species, probably house. I sourced them off CricketKing. I hear chirping but see no eggs.

Optimal Breeding Temperature between 80 to 90 Fahrenheit / 27 to 32 Celsius.

It's winter where I am and I've been trying to heat these guys well enough to get them breeding for about a month or two. I've used 2 heatpads but all they do is make them chirp. I checked the egg tub today and there were no eggs. It's usually around the mid 10s and sometimes gets cold at night. I don't know how warm the inside of the container is but it has a heatpad on the inside taped to a wall they all just sit on.

10 degrees is pretty warm, well warm enough, they should deposit eggs in that temp, albiet maybe only slightly slower to hatch. Maybe the egg laying material needs a change? Too dry, too wet, the rest too hungry? I find the common types of crickets are pretty willing to deposit eggs if not super cold. 10 is pretty decent, i wouldn't add heat for that if it's not long term. Unless you need pinheads asap. If it got closer to freezing, probably 5 or under) maybe a light bulb might help.

I mean for acheta for clarity.

Crickets Are Breeding

I've been trying to breed these cretins since April or May. I put them in a new much smaller house and they were chirping more. This morning I checked on them and saw this female laying eggs.

Get some pics of your colony lol those are hard to breed yes. I tried once but it was a fail, more so because the container accidentally got knocked over . I keep roaches instead.
