Like the title says. I have a 48" x 12" x 18" tank sitting in my spare room and I'd like to use it. What would you guys recommend for something that size? I've currently got 2 Leopard Geckos and a Ball Python. I'm open to ideas and would like to keep the purchase price of the animal around $300 at most.

I've been really interested in Blue Tongue Skinks, but I'm not sure that tank is deep enough for one of them. Seems like they'd need more than 12".

I was thinking Anoles, but they don't really do it for me.

Sounds like a good cage size for a skink actually, they're supposed to enjoy some burrowing but don't really climb so height is mostly useless. And with a shorter height to work with you can use a lower wattage heat bulb.

I'm hoping to get a baby Northern sometime this summer myself and the adult cage I have waiting for it after it grows a bit is the same dimension as yours except for being 6 inches wider.
