Well i found a black widow and a few egg sacs a week or two ago. So i put them in a little container and put them in my room. I fed the female a cricket and left her alone. Well its been 2 weeks or so and one of the egg sacs hatched....so i have 100 or so baby black widows in a container in my room. Anyone know if they sell good? What do i do? Do i need to seperate the spiders?

Any help would be appreciated :-D hehe my first birth of a spider in my house.

You can keep them together and eventually they will cannibalize to a more manageable number or you can seperate them.
I would suggest seperating them on a table with black paper over it so that it makes potential escapees easier to spot.
Good luck!

How do i seperate them? My dad told me not to open the lid it in the house, i guess i will have to go to someone else's house to do it. So just seperate them into small cups with lids. Do they need anything to eat? I heard their venom is 15 times more potent than a rattlesnake's so i am kind of worried. I guess i can try later.

if your a healthy individual they will have little to no effect from you especialy at that size a full grown adult female has hard enough time penetrating the skin of a human :) just pick them out and plop them into vials they couldn't bite you if they wanted too..if your worried about the venom don't have them, I've proven my point by watching/letting adult females bite me, I've yet to have one get through my skin 90% of the time even an agressive sac guarding female doesn't bite me...:)

The venom doesn't really bother me, my parents are more freaked about them getting loose while im seperating them.

Where your located I think theirs more outside your window then they know about! *chuckle* best of luck with the seperation I always let them canabilize to about 5 strong individuals, you can insert prekilled baby crix/flies and other objects as long as their not too badly damaged. if it sticks in the web you will witness a mass feeding of all the spider lings at once. of course I usualy try this once they have created a massive thick mesh of webbing.
