Took my 5.5" female Haplopelma sp. "longipendum" out today for a bit of a photoshoot. She was not impressed at being disturbed, but what astounded me more was her reaction to the wind. Every light breeze resulted in her striking blindly at the floor.

Anyway, here are the pics:

Finally, I decided to put up a High Quality version of the first picture - this is straight from the camera as it comes - no use of Photoshop or any other editing

Great pics I just got one of these guys for free a 3" labeled Cyriopagopus paganus (pet trade name). Mines not psycho yet though, just runs real fast when poked. And i only poked it to make sure I knew what would happen.

Hmmm, talking of being psycho, I wouldn't say she's exactly psycho - certainly highly strung and rather defensive.

Want a demonstration of how mild-mannered my baby is?

[vid removed, change of url]

After I filmed this, she sat for a good 10 minutes striking blindly at every gust of wind.....

Lopez...where do you upload your videos? I need to find a free hosting service. Thanks!

Hi Jake,
I'm lucky, a friend of mine is in the hosting business and gives me a lot of free space. You might get some with your ISP (AOL for example)

What difference a moult makes!
Not only is she now huge (I'd estimate a 6" LS) but she's jet black with mossy bluegreen tinges on the abdomen and faint white striping on each knee

What a difference from the ugly brown spider I got a month or so ago.

The old attitude is still there....

Old skin for scale.

Thanks, although my pictures don't do her a lot of justice. I need to take her back outside for a proper photo session. Black t's are such an arse to photograph, they always look over or under exposed.
