I was making my rounds this a.m. filling up water dishes and checking the "livestock" and found my female Haplopelma Longipes in a death curl .
She had no response when I sprayed her with the misting bottle, several times. I lifted off the top of her enclosure and gently nudged a leg___nothing.
I removed her and tried the ICU but, after almost 7 hours I checked her again, she's gone.
I don't know what happed but I have read that many of the wild caught Asian T's have parasites. No clue. She had been eating and made several tunnels in the 3-4 months I had her.
This is the only time I would have attempted to hold "Turbo". R.I.P. girl...
On a lighter note-just a little later I found "Chiquita", the G. Rosea (my newest T) was on her back on a molt mat. Yeeaahh! I picked her up after the loss of Dirty Harry, my MM G. Rosea.
One door closes-another one opens.
Nothing much has happened with her yet but I'm going to keep checking her through the night.
Here she is as I found her:
