They have one at my local pet store ( 5"+ for $45). I was wondering what the temperment of them are? The person at the pet store said that it was "mean". I'd like to know more about them from real tarantula owners, and make my judgement on whether or not to purchase it with more information instead of "They're mean.".

mean...no..defensive...yes
haitians are awesome display spiders, they get huge, eat anything, and are absolutely georgeous imo..but they usually arent handleable.
a 5"er for $45 seems a little high, but id still go for it ;)
