Well Simba our male cat got injured somehow and we noticed it yesterday. The vet just looked at him and said he had a showing hernia and gave him antibotics and a worm shot. This morning my husband woke me up and told me Simba was having bowl movement and it was coming through the showed hernia. I rushed him to the vet today and they said surgery could run about $200 and we couldn't afford it and also there was no gurantee that he just had intestinal that was not attached. So I just decided to but him down. I will miss him though he was a joy to have the short time we had him (we only had him like near a yr) :(

Yeah, I've been there too. Not fun at all. Sorry to hear about this.

I can definately feel your loss. I had to put my cat "Trouble" down a little over a year ago. He had some kind of condition that caused one side of his heart and veins to harden. Blood pooled up in his heart and started to coagulate. A larger piece of coagulated blood went down a main artery and got stuck. He was paralyzed from the midle of his back all the way back to the tip of his tail. When I found him I had just walked into the house and he started howling. At, first, it seemed as if he knew he had done something wrong, like pee'd where he knew not to, this was a past behavior act he put on when he got caught in the act. I soon realized that there was something more terribly wrong. I had to pull him out from under the futon because he was unable to pull himself out and I noticed his back was limp and he was trying to pull himself across the floor with just his front legs. His two rear feet were black and blue and his body was cold to the touch. I freaked out.

The vet. clinic near my home said they were "booked" and could'nt help. I had to drive a painstaking 35 miles to a 24hr animal hospital 3 cities away and they told me since there was no way of knowing how long he had been that way during the day while I was at work that surgery would not have guaranteed he would be OK. They also said he could die in surgery while they searched for the clot. I had to decide right then to end his life and misery of pain. They explained to me he was in severe pain. I hated to sign the death warrant but did so remorsefully. My niece made me a small clay statue in school to give me in honor of his life. I miss him. Don't be to hard on yourself.
