This girl is a bottom less pit, I figured she wouldn't be hungry for a month or 2 after eating a mouse but 2.5 weeks later she's ate 6 large crix.

I thought I sized the mouse right when I bought it but I think it might have been a little to big but she had no problem taking it down & finishing it. I probably won't feed her another Mouse it's pretty nasty having to pull out a flesh ball & I think some of the mouse just got on the bedding because it reaked & I had to change the substrate. I thought the pill bugs would take care of that.

Thanks, I wish the pics were better quality & I had more but after she made sure it was dead she hovered over it so I couldn't get anymore pics of the mouse.

Tough looking T. Didn't look like she had a problem taking it down. How old is she?

Yes, it is dangerous for the spider. It wouldn't take much for the mouse to injure and/or kill the spider.

Nice pics! I'm not feeding my spiders with vertebrates... only insects.

Sometimes You can hear that spiders dies after eating a mouse and not from injuries or something... don't know why.

The venom from an H.schmidti is actually very potent and WILL kill a mouse.....within seconds.

I'm noty sure how old she is since she is WC but she is 6". I'd hate to get by her, I swear her fangs are 3/8" or a little more:eek: She is very mean, I changed her substrate yesterday & she flipped stright on her back waiting to tag me.

Like I said before I probably won't feed her a mouse again, I'll stick with crix & grasshoppers & maybe an anole.

I have a 7" female gold form, and I can say these guys have quite the appetite! Last time I fed her she ate 12 crickets in one sitting!
It would probably be easier for me if I could feed her a fuzzy mouse, frog, or anolis lizard once or twice a month.
