Thinking about getting a h mac next Thursday. Heard a lot of unpopular comments about them but idk I’ve done a lot of research and I really want one I just love how aggressive they are. Can you guys share any stories or info of these guys??? Also why do people get bit a lot do they not wear gloves or anything to protect themselves??? I would rather be safe than sorry handling these guys.

Don't handle. Number one reason why people get bit.

I owned a female- gorgeous animal- and certainly an advanced species not for beginners.

If you never owned Ts it’s a huge mistake to get one.

They aren’t aggressive at all- you are mistaken

peeps get tagged because they do STUPID things like handle animals they shouldn’t.

Or grow complacent during husbandry

Or underestimate the animal they own- there’s not a single person who is faster than a T’s strike or even many species should they decide to run.

Tarantulas are wild animals, not pets. They view a disturbance as a threat or not.

Honestly most humans are stupid when it comes to exotic animals. They do not have a clue at all.

I already have an Arizona blonde (My first and only T) for 2 year’s but way different from a old world T. I took sometime to do research but a lot of people say don’t get it but I’m just so tempted. I feel like I got what it takes to own one. Also yes I don’t treat my T’s as pets and try to handle them. I rather not cause them stress. But yeah I don’t want to have a whole collection just a very few and the h mac is one of them on the list.

Going from a chill T to one that moves at lightening speed and whose venom is no joke is a huge move. Pain, swelling, muscle cramps, heart racing.. Then the next question is, do you feel you can properly care for this creature (be able to preform maintenance and rehouses in a way that is safe for you both and does not compromise the T’s environment)?

Don't get a spider you're afraid of. Patience is important with feeding, watering and rehousing. Respect the spider's need for space and a means of escape and you will be most of the way there for husbandry concerns. DO NOT HANDLE.

Going from an A chalcodes to H Mac is the equivalent of driving a 4 cylinder mini truck and jumping into a F1 car. Get a faster NW T and get used to that. FWIW H Macs are terrestrial pet holes. They hide a lot so you rarely see them.
Because they are hidden people get complacent and get tagged while working on the enclosure. A glove isn't gonna do squat when it is already to your shoulder. So get a NW Arboreal and get used to that (Avic or Versicolor) because if it gets loose
you won't need a doctor. I have been keeping Ts nearly 2 decades and have all kinds of old worlds. The 2 I will most likely never own are H Mac and Stromatapelma. Just not worth it in my book

This is the spider that is known to teleport...right? I'd try keeping psalmopoeus sp and seeing how that goes before trying an H mac.
