Grats on the sack. :)

However, it's not a success until you get to 1st instar; there are plenty of things that could still go wrong.

I hope it works out for you.

yes yes i know, i knew it would get brought up that i wrote success! heh oh well (i DID write "when/if the slings hatchout") i'm just excited. thank you for the encouragement though. currently she has her cage facing backward (so i can see her easily) with a huge half log outside the cage to keep it dark for her still, taht way i can quietly check on her without having to turn the whole thing around and bother her. hopefully that helps the odds of her not eating it!

No sorry, after the fifth pairing she munched him. =( as far as pulling the sac, I was thinking about pulling at 14 days. Reason is the gallon jar has airholes that slings could easily escape. It's at 80 degrees in there so that shouldn't be a bad time to pull I don't think.

Check the breeding reports for an idea of how long others have left the sac with mom, how long till first instar, etc. That should help you to make a decision on when to pull. :)

I keep my room at 80 degrees also.

Sack laid on 11-20-09
Pulled sack on 12-21-09

5 bad eggs, and 238 1st instars. These are typically good moms, and will not eat the sack if you just leave her alone.
