Gynandromorph hercules

Two weeks ago I was really surprised to see this emerging from the pupa! I thought it was a male, because I saw the spot on it, but after it pupated I had a clue it won't be a regular male I saw it emerging with my friend, but I can only post pics of it later.

One half of the pronotum is shiny with a little horn and the other is hairy:

There's also a little horn on the head:

The elytra are ribbed like on a female:

But has male genitalia:

Gynandromorphs always facinate me. Great show of this.

I showed it to our museum's curator, but he wasn't interested so much. I can't find too much information on them, but I think they are pretty rare in nature. Have any of you come across one?

I think being bilaterl makes it rarer yet. Way cool.
