Been looking to add some protein to the colonies. What do you guys use? Has anyone tried powdered milk?

Not sure, just want to add more nutrition to them as I feed them to inverts/herps. Have any suggestions? I'm just using wheat bran now, I tried chicken feed but it had some chemicals in it (I asked for unmedicated).

Edit: I was thinking of trying alfalfa pellets.

Wheat bran is high in protein, omegas and vitamins, so it will be tough to do better than what you are doing already. Really mealies and supers manufacture quite a bit of thier own protein and fats from the grains/veggies they feed on, its not a thing where protein in = protein added, just digested without much benefit. Alfalfa could be a plus. You could also try dry rice or lentils for them to chew on. I feed them a carrot for moisture but otherwise much the same things....

I was under the impression that they were low on protein, thanks for the correction. I guess I'll just add some oats and vary fruits/veggies.
