If I remember correctly, this guy lives in Australia. He's got a thread in the field trips section.Nice pictures, is it a California Kingsnake, Lampropeltis getula californiae?
A small Aussie elapid species called Bandy-Bandy,Vermicella annulata, also looks like this but that's highly unlikely to see around.
I just saw the topic and since he was handling some serious spiders there, I guess he wouldn't mind free-handling a bandy bandy .If I remember correctly, this guy lives in Australia. He's got a thread in the field trips section.
Awesome pictures. I guess Vermicella annulata is one species that we wont see in the hobby as everybody is crazy about taipans, black and brown snakes. I actually find these as interesting as their big cousins if not more. They are incredibly shy and easy to handle. I wouldn't handle any other elapids out here like that though. Not worth it! Bandy bandies are Australia's version of the sonoran coral snake...... which I've also handled.
You've got that right! Nice pics and thanks for sharing. I'm very, very jealous.I wouldn't handle any other elapids out here like that though. Not worth it!
I have to spend at least 5 years of my life over there. Great find!Glad you guys like the photos! Yesterday, a friend and i found a pseudechis species, a rough scaled snake, and another bandy bandy. On top of that, a carpet patron and 6 Boiga!
