ironically, i have to thank my phobic sister for my little pets, as they're mainly rewards for putting up with her. also, my dad is a lot more open-minded than many other arachnophobes.

It looks like he is missing his tail. Too bad. Hopefully it will grow banck with his next molt. ;)

missing tails

It is very common for WC tailless whipscorpions and vinegaroons to have missing antenna and a leg or two when imported. They get it back next molt.

of all non-T arachnids, i think this would have to be one of my favorites too.

she has now settled herself in underneath the paper cup.

I'm hoping to get our native version of these at next years arachnocon. They are beautiful and amazing bugs. :)

Does that species burrow?

not sure, but everytime mine has gone out of sight, it was only underneath the cup.

yes that species burrows. mine has made a tunnel in its cocohusk substrate and i hardly see it. voracious eater too (one medium sized cricket every other a day?).

Careful, Vinnegaroons have been known to overeat untill they are shaped like a balloon! Mine does fine on one cricket a week.
