Recent threads got my thinking about some of my pokes. I wanted to see what people thought this one was. I'll say what it was sold to me as, at a later time.

hmmm, maybe not.....yours doesn't have the orange on the legs, or the olive green shine on the body...
I guess I don't know!

Post some good pics of the underside of the legs and I'll guess it within a second!

Hmm it looks like one of these : pederseni, Striata, Fasciata, Vitata (or Regalis, but then again if regalis you would have noticed the white band underneath)

For sure not Smithi, Ornata, Rufilata, Miranda, Metallica, Subfusca or Formosa..

I would go for Striata or Pederseni.

Might be a silly question, but do different species of pokies have different personalites, or r they all aggresvie?

This spider was sold to me as pederseni. I at least feel a little better now. I was having trouble believing it , because every pic i see of pederseni has a very white stripe down its abdomin. Whys mine so dark? I have a feeling that mine is a male (like most of my spiders:mad: ), and have heard that males color can sometimes be darker.
Thank for the help everyone.

Well Striata, Subfusca, metallica and miranda are all very "calm" compared to many of the other poke species...... I think the most aggressive ones are ornata and pederseni, and the most nervous are rufilata and smithi.

Just looking at the pictures you have posted I would say it was not one of the 'white' poke's (regalis, fasciata, formosa, pederseni) it doesn't have the common white stripes at it's knees, I would guess one of the darker morphs. Judging by the poke's I've kept I would guess ornata. How large is it?

For Sure it is not Ornata... The small white stripes at the end of the legs would have been yellow then.....

Could we just have a pic of the underside, then I could tell you for sure... I have some pics of Pederseni... if it has the black brigde on leg number 3 as I had showed it is pederseni for sure... if not let us see a pic....

Sorry it took so long but getting a pic of the underside isnt as easy as Hendricks makes it look.=D This is the best shot im gonna get. I dont see those bridges:mad: . This spider is about 3 inches, will they appear when it gets bigger or is this not a pederseni ?
