I bought Floofy almost 2 years ago as an adult Female Curly Hair (Tliltocatl albopilosus) from a supposedly reputable shop online. As I trusted the sexing, I never bothered looking at the 2 molts that were done by her--er--him. Of course, as shown in the attached pics, after the last molt I definitely have a Male, the hooks are there in all their glory and the pedipalps are swollen and ready for action. Final nail was the web spun last night, definitely ready to get it on with the nearest willing Female....sigh. I go out of my way to not buy Males, I'm not into them at all. I'm not a breeder and have no intention of ever becoming one. So I guess he's going to have to live out his life (what's left of it) as a virgin. He'll of course be well cared for, and he just got rehoused last week to a larger and better enclosure, so he'll be comfy in his last days....still doesn't make me happy I was ripped off by a shop that should have gotten the sexing properly right, especially at the age I bought it at. Lesson learned on my end to trust no one when it comes to that aspect of it, I'll sex all my molts from here on out, something I should have done in the first place. Don't let a shops reputation fool you, they all make mistakes, it's on you to figure it out.
