I bought a box of crickets and found these furry caterpillar/grub things in the box. I've left them alone and now seem to have more of them. During my searches I've read everything from them being helpful in keeping the crickets clean to them being a potential problem. Any info on these would be appreciated.

Sounds like Dermestid Beetle larvae. They wont bug the crickets, they eat the dead ones so it could be helpful to have them about :D

...and they will eat almost everything that was made from animals (fur, wool ect.) :)
Anthrenus and Attagenus species can seriously dammage insect collections - so beware (if you are entomologist ;) )

Thanks for the replies. I guess there would be no point in putting any in with my roaches since they never seem to die.
Will they eat dog food etc or do they live strictly on carrion?

Smaller species (like mentioned Attagenus and Antrenus) will eat dry organic matter (I've kept them on cat's hair, dried bodies of other insects ect.).
Larger species (like Dermestes) will eat everything, but the best for them will be carrion.
