How long will it take for a female Avicularia versicolor to reach sexual maturity if:

Temps are kept at 75-82 Degrees Fahrenheit

Humidity levels remain at 75%

They are fed twice a week, if they will eat that amount

Does cage size play ANY role in growth rate? Or would proper cage dimensions according to the size of the spider make the previous question irreverent.

im no avic expert, but that question is impossible to answer imo..2 diff sack mate ts housed identically can (and ime DO) vary... slightly, substantially.. but the timeline still changes. I DO think cage size plays a role in growth rate though.. my reasoning is because a t feels safer and more established in a size appropriate cage , there for its more likely eat than hide. hope that makes sense. im extremely tired and cant think straight

Twice a week is quite some powerfeeding you do there. I'd be careful about it, but information regarding the pros and cons of that can be easily obtained by running a search for powerfeeding on the forum. To answer your question: I have NO idea. Probably still quite a long time (in human terms) but that's better answered by the experts on here :)

It is almost impossible to tell you exactly when to expect the tarantula to shed or the exact day it is going to reach maturity , but I can tell you that Avics are very fast growers by tarantula standers. If i where to guess I would say 1- 2 1/2 years.

im expecting my first avics tomorrow (diversipes and versi) and ive been doing a lot of question asking and reading. apparently they are fast growers and reach maturity (from sling) in about 2yrs... these answers are from breeders and avid avic owners . i asked how fast they compare their growth rate to pokies (those are the only arboreals ive ever owned) and i guess they're not too far off.. i have pokies that mature from sling to adult male in a lil over a year, and the avics supposedly take 1.5 to 2... ill see first hand soon , as everybody keeps ts different .

me too.. hell, ill be feeding mine like that.. at least 3 pinheads a week till it gets adult coloration. thats no diff that how i feed ALL my slings. i do keep abdomen size in mind, however, i as many injury risks as possible. if a t looks like its gonna pop, i stop.

Ok cool. My versicolor I got when she was a sling, now after her last molt she is about 2.5in. I didn't need an EXACT time, but a good estimate because I know there are a lot of factors. I wouldn't say i'm power feeding per say, I just keep her ( and all my Ts ) nice and " plumpish ". If they don't want to eat twice a week, it's no big deal to me, but if they will, I will let them have it; that is unless they are getting too fat then I cut way down to let them grow and molt.
