So this is probably a little strange of a thing to post on arachnoboards but I have gotten a lot of help on this site in the past and figured I would try.
I have a very persistent groundhog who has made his home in my yard. Does anyone have any groundhog removal tips or any clever traps I could try that would be easy and cheap? He is very fat and large and likes to strut his stuff around and then bolt for his home under my shed as soon as I make a sound, even when I am in my house sometimes.

Well you could get a live trap set up with some carrots and dandylion flowers as bait, if you want to remove it unharmed. I will say they are very good eating though...

Lol that's what my boss at work said, eat it! Haha idk I suppose I would prefer to remove it unharmed. So dandelions and carrots eh?

Yeah. I reckon you could try just about any veggie, but I have seen them chow down on dandylions. Also, they do bite so be careful.

I've read cantaloupe is supposed to be their favorite. Had one eat all of the ones I grew so I reckon there's some truth to it. The one that ate all my cantaloupe and I'm at war with isn't playing fair so neither am I. Every time I get after him he runs to and stays in the burrow he has on the cranky old lady's property next door. He's going to slip up one day though. Or I'm going to buy a cantaloupe.

LOL, man I totally am at war with this guy too. I think it's safe to say we are sworn enemies. Now that you mention that I have heard cantaloupe as well.

An abundance of beer and polka tends to accompany forcing them into around six weeks of hiding.
No polka in my case but an abundance of beer and mostly really loud death metal with a bunch of people around a bonfire in my back yard seems to yield a similar result. :)

I just wrangled 4 of them out of the warehouse where I work. I caught them in a live trap using tomatoes. I took them to the woods about 15 miles away and released them

Yep, pretty tasty even if a bit greasy. Have to be sure to not taint the meat with the musk glands. And whistle pig goes well with most vegetables. :)
