Hi all,
Just digging through all my spare gear for the animals....mats,stats,substrate,tanks etc. and I came across a big bag of ground walnut grit.I have no idea when I got it or why.
Don't think I would have bought it for the serpents or frogs so I am at a loss.
Any ideas what it is normally used for ?
Thanks
Paul

It is sometimes used for reptiles, it is also used as a blasting agent. :)

Yeah when I was first starting in the T hobby I actually tried that as a substrate. A number of days later my T hadn't come down off the wall so i got rid of it. Used it to make the frozen sidewalks less slick, as I recall.

It is so expensive though......£10 for a 5Kg bag.
I can get a 25Kg bag of aubiose for almost the same price.....for the serps.

My understanding is it is used for reptiles. I buy it and use it as tumbling/polishing media for my pick up brass when reloading ammo.
