Are they wild caught or captive born & bred? Since this is your first venture into owning a GTP, I would highly recommend staying away from any WC specimens.

All of the ones pictured above, except for the last one, are Biak locale types...which are my least favorite locale color-wise (they tend to retain alot of yellow as adults)....the last one looks like an Aru type or possibly an Aru x Biak cross...color-wise I like it the best. The Arus typically turn out a lime-green color as adults with white speckling on top and some blue on thei sides/head.

have you kept any other type of python. Most people i know say you should have kept regular pythons/boas before venturing into arboreal pythons/boas.

I don't think keeping a terrestrial boid prepares you at all for an aboreal species....thats like saying someone should get a G. rosea to prepare for a Poecilotheria species lol. The husbandry, behavior and quirks on the 2 types is very different. As long as adequate research and consideration is put into the purchase prior to getting the animal, I see no reason why someone couldn't get a Green Tree Python as their first boid, or first snake period really. Its all about the owner and their willingness to provide the best possible environment for the animal.

Sorongs are not high-yellow, unless they have been crossed with Biaks....Sorongs are similar to Arus, but instead of white speckiling on their dorsal, they have a blue stripe that goes down their backs with diamonds projecting outward from the stripe. They are very attractive snakes IMO.

also how do heat the neonnates and how do you heat your cages for them, i've done a fair bit of research on the matter but i just want some different opinions
Heat can be provided through several ways....flexwatt heat-tape hooked up to a thermostat/rheostat, a radiant heat-panel (cost-prohibitive, but very efficient)....it all depends on the enclosure and how you plan to set it up.
